Frustrated with the problems I was having with Snow Leopard (application crashes galore), I did a Google search for "application crashes snow leopard how to fix" and finally found some helpful postings on how to fix my issues.
2 solutions were listed in iLounge for how to solve the issues I was experiencing:
Two Proposed Solutions to Snow Leopard Crash Problems
I decided to take the following approach:
- First do Solution b as described in this forum.
- Then do Solution a as described in this forum.
- Then run the disk utility on Mac OS X (Utilities / Disk Utility) to verify and then repair permissions.
- Restart.
Results: Very good. I have experienced only a couple of application crashes since undertaking this approach (compared with numerous crashes/day before I did this).
I recommend doing the same thing if you are having problems with your Snow Leopard installation. And hopefully Apple will issue a patch in the near future so we don't have to jump through such hoops.
Thank you to iLounge for helping to tame the beast.
